What is Aqidah?
In Arabic, the term "aqeedah" refers to beliefs that are held firmly and vehemently in one's heart and soul. They are not contaminated by any semblance of ambiguity or doubt.
The basis of the Arabic term "aqeedah" is "aqada," which means "certainty," "affirmation," and "confirmation."
When Jibreel approached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and inquired about Islam, among other things, he gave him the following definition of aqidah: "Iman (faith) means to believe in Allah, His angels, His Scriptures, His Messengers, our eventual reunion with Him on the Day of Judgment, and whatever good or bad happened to a person was from Allah The Almighty".
